The (first) Exhibition of Passage Through Shadows

Hello all!

I’m so pleased to be sharing that my capstone short film Passage Through Shadows premiered at The New 4oo Theather in Rogers Park on May 1st, 2023! As nerve wracking as it was to show my work on the big screen, it was an absolute thrill. The theater was completely full (with some sitting in the aisles!) of fellow Loyola students, friends, and family.

Passage Through Shadows is the most involved project I’ve taken on in undergrad and I am incredibly proud of what the cast and crew achieved in the short 3 days we were shooting. Making this film was a labor of love and challenge to myself to see if I could execute my own vision at highest possible level. Although juggling it with my last semester of undergrad and writing one too many history papers was not ideal, I think the pressure of time, energy, and resources pushed myself and my close collaborators to think and problem solve on the spot; something that will ultimately make us stronger filmmakers. I’ve also had the pleasure of sharing the version of the film that premiered at The New 400 with friends and family, which has been quite interesting. It has been fascinating to see how other people connect with the film and what they get from it compared to how it has evolved in what it means to me. As of now, the film is not widely available and is still being edited, but I hope to be sharing it at festivals this fall!

A big thank you to everyone who helped work on it and those who encouraged me throughout the process! I certainly could not have done it without a great support system of lovely friends and talented collaborators. I really look forward to sharing the film!
